Have you ever wished for your devices to be in complete harmony? Well, now it’s not just a dream! With Logitech Harmony you can control everything in your house. Well, at least everything digital. In fact, this miracle remote has been around ever since 2001, but with the new advents in technology and as more and more devices in your home are being controlled remotely, you will be needing one soon.
So, logically, it’s high time Logitech Harmony remotes started being used! In this article we will be looking at all of the current versions of the Harmony: what have they got to offer, what’s their price, and, more importantly: are they worth it? Without further ado, let’s start the show!
Logitech Harmony 350 Remote
The Logitech Harmony 350 is the perfect low budget remote control. At only $49.99 this gadget is sleek, stylish, and extremely powerful with the force. The infrared force that is. It can control up to 8 devices at the same time. It has the innovative button labeled simply “watch TV” which can turn on your TV, your sound system, and even your satellite box – all at the same time.
Think that’s convenient? It can also control your air conditioning, your thermostat, and, with the right settings, it will automatically memorize your preferences and lead you to your favorite TV station at the push of a button.
To set it up, you will need a Windows PC or an Intel Mac, equipped with a USB port and internet access. The setup is simple – as long as you know the names of your devices. The only thing left to do is sit back and enjoy.
Logitech Harmony 650 Remote
With its slightly vintage look and the color display that looks like it came off of a 2000s 6k color cell phone screen, the Logitech Harmony 350 remote is clearly a hipster’s dream. But aside from that – it has all the cool features people love about the Harmony 350. Features like the Watch TV button, the 8 separate devices at a time compatibility, as well as the programmable buttons. All that for just $79.99.
But when one looks at the bulk of other features fitted into this tiny TV trekker, it almost seems too good to be true. The color display is smart – it allows users to see their favorite channels’ logos up there and then select them right away. With the right amount of tuning, this remote could have you watching Game of Thrones the millisecond that the show starts. All with one button.
The same as the 350, this Logitech Harmony remote also requires a Windows and/or a Mac for setup. But after that’s done, you’ll never watch TV the same again.
Logitech Harmony Companion Remote
The Logitech Harmony Companion costs more than the 650 at $149.99. And it doesn’t even have a screen. But wait! Don’t push it aside so quickly. Wait until you see what it does have! With the Logitech Harmony Companion you can control absolutely any device in the house! The only thing that device needs is to have Wi-Fi, infrared, or Bluetooth technology. The Harmony works together with the Logitech Harmony app for iOS or Android.
To install this remote correctly and benefit from all its amazing perks, users should have a Mac or a PC and an iOS device or an Android device. Any combination will work – so the first thing you will want to do is make sure everything is set up according to your preferences.
Logitech Harmony Companion comes with full functionality and programmable programs that change lights, put on music, or adapt the thermostat at regular intervals. For example: you can set up a “Good Morning” program that plays smooth jazz, raises the blinds, and turns off the AC.
Logitech Harmony Ultimate One Remote
No wonder it’s called the Logitech Harmony Ultimate One. This Logitech One is indeed ultimate. Its design is simple: a few buttons at the top, a big touch-screen in the middle, and a few more buttons at the bottom. But its functionality is incredible! First let’s look at the cute quirks: when it senses motion, it lights up its keys and brightens its screen; when you click on something, it vibrates a little; and when you run out of batteries, you can recharge it. Convenient? Wait, there’s more!
It also has the programmable functions of the Logitech Harmony Companion. And you can add up to 50 channels of favorites. You can control up to 15 infrared devices and choose from a bundle of 270,000 compatible ones
And the charging station ships with the remote. All of this and more for the generous sum of $249.99. But it’s well worth the price!
Logitech Harmony Elite Remote
This elite remote is deserving of its title. Basically, it combines the Wi-Fi and mobile app functionality of the Logitech Harmony Companion, with the quirky touch-screen of the Logitech Harmony Ultimate One. All to create a unique experience. The touch screen can control everything in your home and is almost half the size of the one on your smartphone. Speaking of which, you can add the Harmony app to this smartphone and get a “smart house.”
The Logitech Harmony Elite remote also comes with a rechargeable battery and a charging station. However, this batter is replaceable and also has a 20% larger capacity than the one on the Harmony Companion One.
And the price? Well, we’re not going to lie: this one is a bit more than pricy. At $349.99, you really have to be well off to afford to buy one. But a bit of economy and you could soon be living in the home of the future.
