Best Games for PS4 in 2015
3. Fallout 4
A game about a post-apocalyptic society more than 200 years after World War III? Well – count me in! Of course, this represents the setting for all Fallout games. This one, however, is special because of multiple reasons. First of all, because of the hype behind it. After the incredible success of Fallout 3, Fallout 4 was so highly anticipated that it blew the charts in terms of sales.
The story of the player starts out right after the nuclear disaster of 2077. Seeking shelter, the player’s character enters Vault 111. There he or she will spend the following 210 years, waking up in 2287. The story showcases that the player once had a happy life, a spouse, and a child. Both are killed when someone tampers with the cryogenic tubes they had been frozen in. When the player wakes up, they will automatically engage in a self-righteous hunt for revenge over their family’s death.
Fallout 4 Best Games for PS4 in 2015 score: Story 9.5/10; Gameplay 9/10; Graphics 8.5/10.
2. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate
The latest installment of the Assassin’s Creed series brings players to the heart of the British Empire during the reign of Queen Victoria. Victorianism has always had an allure of mystery and crime to it, what with the Whitechapel area of London, the stories of Sherlock Holmes, and the mystery of Jack the Ripper. Syndicate, however, walks in the footsteps set by these but doesn’t present any character from them. However, the player will encounter real life characters that existed in London back then.
During their journey to liberate England’s capital from the hands of the Templars, the assassins Evie Frye and Jacob Frye encounter some names that might seem familiar: Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, or Alexander Graham Bell. And if that wasn’t enough, the players will even be helped by Queen Victoria herself. All in all, a game well deserving of the number 2 place on our list of the best games for PS4 in 2015.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Best Games for PS4 in 2015 score: Story 9 /10; Gameplay 9.5/10; Graphics 9/10.
1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
It does seem like all the games here are part of franchises. However, out of all the three, The Witcher III needs to take the leading spot on our list of the top 3 best games for PS4 in 2015. Why? Because indeed, if we are to look at the reviews, the developers from CD Projekt Red have really outdone themselves with this one.
The original Witcher was praised for its innovative approach to a role-playing game. The next installment of the series, The Witcher II, was likewise an extremely well-developed game but had major problems in the gameplay department and the story simply did not stick with its audiences. And besides all this, players and critics alike also criticized the lack of an open world environment.
With the Witcher 3, players take on the role of Geralt of Rivia, the famed demon hunter (aka witcher). The world is now free to explore by the player, who can use horses, boats, and other means of transport to journey across the ginormous map. The gameplay now is far more straightforward that it was in the previous installment of the game. As is the way of combining magic and swordsmanship. But we forgot to mention the best part about this game: players can now use a crossbow while riding a horse.
Of course, the story is far too complicated to go into here. All we’re going to say is that it’s well worth exploring and engaging. The Witcher 3 is a jewel of a game. It’s the equivalent of Skyrim for Bethesda, but better. So, we encourage players to explore the world of the Witcher 3, because this is indeed the top spot on the list of best games for PS4 in 2015.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Best Games for PS4 in 2015 score: Story 10/10; Gameplay 9.5/10; Graphics 10/10.
